Patrice Brodeur is an associate professor at the Institut d`études religieuses at the Université de Montréal. He was the Canada Research Chair (junior) on Islam, Pluralism and Globalization (2005-2015). His expertise includes contemporary Islamic thought and interreligious dialogue. He was the founding director of the research department (2013-2015), and later a Senior Adviser (2016-2021) at the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) in Vienna, Austria. His publications include more than fifty articles, book chapters and books. He has lectured academically to a variety of audiences and conducted trainings on dialogue in over fifty countries around the world.
